A Polaroid snapshot of a tree that was uprooted and toppled by the derecho, a storm with hurricane-force winds, that hit the area on the night of June 13, 2022.

The tree is on the north side of Belle Vista Boulevard, just east of Gates Drive, in the Waynedale area of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The derecho did a lot more damage to Waynedale than it did to any other part of the city. This is just one of hundreds of trees in Waynedale that were uprooted or broken off at the base by the storm.
